MediaHive is a virtual video production studio in Nanaimo, BC. We serve businesses on Vancouver Island, in Greater Vancouver, and beyond.
The studio is easily accessible – just 15 minutes from the Nanaimo airport and 5 minutes off Highway #1. For clients traveling from Vancouver, select packages include a 20-minute seaplane flight for convenience.

At the MediaHive Studio, we’re all about simplifying production. No more on location scouting, rentals, permits, time limitations and hassle. Just come into the studio, sit down (or stand up if you prefer!), and we’ll take you wherever you need to go virtually.

The classic YouTube-style, behind-the-desk setup is a great way to start engaging on camera. From casual home offices to warehouses and high rises, we have spaces suited for every message.
Business consultation and scripting of your message are available. If you’d prefer we cast for you, we can arrange a professional to present your message on your behalf.
A “direct-to-camera” message using the Teleprompter makes recording short messages easy. We can place you in an environment suited to your message and audience, or record over a simple colour background for a budget-friendly option.
We helped this founder introduce her product through the story of its ingredients, sourced from the other side of the world. As the producer, Britta is the manager of all project details. She’s also behind every frame, from virtual and physical set design to the virtual production lighting and camera work.

Sashi loves helping out around the studio, inspecting every lighting setup to ensure it’s just right.
08 FAQ’s
Studio work is about creating content that engages viewers, like podcasts, social media posts, ads, educational videos, interviews, and more. See Studio Work. When needed, we’ll also go on location to shoot, including drone coverage. See Documentary Work.
We’re set up for live recording and editing, which means you’ll have your content the same day or the next day, if you’re going the DYI route to posting. Alternatively, we’ll upload your posts for approval and schedule them to post to your social media without your needing to do anything further.
Yes, filming, editing, podcast distribution and posting on social media / YouTube are part of our comprehensive packages. You can also choose a DYI approach and just take your content to go, if you enjoy posting yourself.
Worried about what to say on camera? We’ve got you. Some of our packages include guides, prompts, and a content creation course to help you feel confident. We also offer consultation and planning, and for larger packages, we’ll script an outline so you know exactly what to cover. You don’t have to figure it out alone—that’s what we’re here for.
